Title: 6Nimmt!
/ Take6! Design: Wolfgang Kramer Producer: Amigo Number of players: 2 to 10 |
6Nimmt! / Take6!
Components: 104 playing cards numbered from 1 to 104. |
The goal: Each player gets 10 cards. Every turn all players play simultaneously one card. These cards will be placed in 4 rows on the table. The player who lays the sixth card in a row, will get the other 5. When all 10 gameturns are over, the points will be accumulated and noted. The game ends when someone reaches 66 points. The player with the least points has won the game.
1 point (ox-head)
Easy ? The rule are indeed ! Of all the cards played in a turn, the lowest card will be placed first and so on. The card must be placed at the end of one of the four rows under these conditions: 1) the card must be higher than the last card of the row. 2) The difference between the played card and the last card of the row must be as little as possible. If every last card is higher than the card played, than the player has to choose a row. He gets all those cards and places his card in their place.
3 points (ox-heads)
Ox: The points are represented by ox-heads. Most cards have 1 ox-head. The numbers ending on 5 have 2 ox-heads, the numbers ending on 0 have 3 ox-heads and all numbers divisible by 11 have 5 ox-heads. So 55 has 2 + 5 = 7 ox-heads. So there are many points to get.
Example:
Row 1 Row 2 Row 3 Row 4 |
30 -
36 37 43 - 44 58 - 61 |
30 -
36 3 43 - 44 58 - 61 |
30 -
36 3 - 9 43 - 44 58 - 61 |
30 -
36 3 - 9 43 - 44 58 - 61 - 68 |
Cards to play | 3 - 9 - 68 - 83 | 9 - 68 - 83 | 68 - 83 | 83 |
The end: When all points are accumulated and nobody reached 66, than there will be a next turn. After this turn again points will be count and eventually someone reaches the magical 66 border. The winner is the one with the least points.
Valuation: At first it seems just an ordinary cardlaying game. But when you play it more often (and you will), you will discover more strategy. You want to try this new strategy, so you will play another game. Especially with large groups you will get a lot of points in one turn. A great game to play anytime. Very nice.
Strategy: You better find it out yourself. Do you play a very low card right in the beginning to get just a lousy point or do you keep the card until the end, to keep your options open ? In the end, when you have 2 consecutive cards, which one do you play first ? And what if there are some numbers between them ? When the rows on the table are almost full, do you play a very high card, hoping that when it's your turn, the points are already gone, or do you play a low card, to pick the one row with just a few points ? The game is already over... Play another one ?
